Kadai Paneer is a popular paneer recipe where paneer and bell peppers are cooked in a spicy masala.
It is one of the most popular paneer recipes. It’s there on the menu in almost all Indian restaurants. I remember always ordering it when we ate out.
Kadai is a like a wok commonly used in Indian cooking. We use it to make stir fry and all sorts of things. We also use it for deep frying snacks and sweets.
This dish is called Kadai Paneer because it’s cooked in a kadhai. But if you don’t have a Kadhai you can simply use a wok or any other pan.
Ingredients and spices that need to be Take to make Kadai Paneer:
- 1 inch Ginger
- 1/2 cup Garlic
- 1 tsp Cumin seeds
- 3 Dried red chillies
- 2 pieces Bay leaf
- 10 grams Whole garam masala
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Coriander powder
- 1 tsp Cumin powder
- 2 medium sized Roughly chopped capsicum
- 250 grams Paneer
- 1/2 cup Sliced onions
- 1/2 cup Chopped coriander leaves
- 3 medium sized Roughly chopped tomatoes
- As required Hot Water (As you want gravy)
- 4 tbsp Refined oil
- 3 tbsp Cashew nuts
- 3 tbsp Musk melon seeds (magaz)
Steps to make to make Kadai Paneer
- Take a grinding jar & add ginger, garlic, cumin seeds, dry red chillies, tomatoes. Then blend it.



- Make a lump free batter.



- Again take a grinding jar & add magaz & cashew nuts, water (1 tbsp). Then blend it.



- Heat a kadai & add whole garam masala, bay leaf. Dry roast the spices for KadHai masala for 2-3 minutes on medium heat until fragrant. Take aside. Let it cool down a bit & then grind to a fine powder.



- Add 4 tbsp refined oil to the kadai.Then add roughly chopped capsicum.Fry it for 1 minute on high flame.Then take aside.



- Add paneer to the rest oil in kadHai. Fry it for 2 minutes on medium flame. Then take aside.

- Add sliced onions & saute it for 2 minutes until softened.


- Add masala paste, salt (1 tsp), turmeric powder (1 tsp), coriander powder (1 tsp). Cook for around 5 minutes..



- Keep stirring to avoid burning.


- Add paste (Magaz + Cashew nuts).Mix it well. Cook it for 3 minutes.



- Then add cumin powder, kadhai masala that you prepared earlier.


- Cook it for another 30 seconds. Then mix fried paneer & capsicum to the Kadhai.



- Add hot water & 1 tsp salt (as you want gravy). Cook it for 2 minutes.


- Finally garnish with coriander leaves. Now enjoy the kadhai paneer.
